FAMILY COMPANY, GLOBAL LEADER, SHAPING THE FUTURE VOLLMER

Maximum sharpening for tools in production and service: That's what VOLLMER stands for. Since it was founded in 1909, the company has become a technology leader for state-of-the-art grinding, erosion and machining tools for rotary tools and circular saws in the wood- and metalworking industries and for metal-cutting band saws. The extensive machine range is supplemented by customised service offerings. VOLLMER is a solution provider for global customers – including sharpening services, saw mills, tool manufacturers, and production companies.

Our values

For us at VOLLMER, corporate action always represents sustainable action. We are not focused on the short-term maximization of profit, but rather the future of the company and its employees. We acknowledge our responsibility as an active part of society, the region, our town and the entire industry. This is demonstrated in a number of ways: We support, for example, the VOLLMERCup in Biberach, a top-level tournament in the Olympic discipline of shot put.

With long-term commitment to important associations such as the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association) and the VDMA (German Engineering Association), VOLLMER makes an impact industry-wide. For instance, we are taking part in the VDW initiative „umati“, which developed a standard for connecting machine tools to IT systems.

Dialogue and interaction across company boundaries are important to us, showing our openness to any interested citizens and groups from the region, who can gain interesting insights during guided tours. Whatever the future brings, one thing is certain: VOLLMER will remain VOLLMER. Founded in 2013, the Sieglinde-Vollmer foundation ensures economic independence for the company today and tomorrow and provides a solid foundation for further development of the VOLLMER Group – within reason.

Our roots

Shooting matches, traditional costumes and customs: At VOLLMER, we cherish and cultivate the regional traditions and the Upper Swabian mentality: Headstrong, freedom-loving, unwavering. Our roots lie in one of the strongest economic regions of Europe today – herein lies the strength to enable organic, sustainable growth worldwide.

VOLLMER developed a strong international presence early on and expanded into important markets in Europe and overseas. Today, the VOLLMER Group has fifteen subsidiaries, more than 30 representatives and around 800 employees, all managed from the headquarters in Biberach. The award-winning, modern industrial building translates essential elements of company culture into architecture: Clarity, transparency, scope for development, but also concentration and efficiency. This is where international visitors arrive on an almost daily basis. Whether from China, France, England, Russia, the USA or India, they are given advice, trained and greeted with a warm welcome: With their national flag blowing in the breeze in front of the Technology and Training Centre.

FIVE DIVISIONS, ONE CLAIM, COUNTLESS POSSIBILITIES

More precision in the sharpening and grinding process while simultaneously increasing productivity: This is our objective with each new VOLLMER machine. Innovations are not accidental, but rather the result of a structured process. Over 80 developers work day in day out on new solutions and technologies, in close collaboration with the sales and product management experts. It's not about having the edge as an end in itself, but the success of our customers. Their wishes are therefore part of the development process. Good example: The legendary VOLLMER operating concept, to fully exploit the potential of each machine quickly and easily. VOLLMER has well over 200 patents to date and more are constantly being added. In many fields, VOLLMER machines are considered worldwide as the originals.

VOLLMER SYSTEM SUPPLIER

The extensive experience and competence from over 110 years of tool processing and maintenance is culminated in five business units: rotary tools, circular saws, metal-cutting band saws, as well as the services division, which provides tailor-made services for all disciplines. Owing to the growing importance of digitalisation, in the future VOLLMER will combine digital solutions in a new product area. The most important thing for our customers is that VOLLMER
machines have an excellent TCO value (Total Cost of Ownership). This all comes down to their high level of efficiency, outstanding quality of results, maximised service lives and not least their long operating lives. In short: Choosing a VOLLMER machine pays off, quicker than you think. Our vision: Leading system supplier for the manufacture and maintenance of machining tools. Our vision is to be the leading system supplier in manufacturing and servicing cutting tools. Digital solutions will play an increasingly important role. For even greater flexibility and transparency in the process.
