Theresa Seif (17) THE VOLLMER TRAINING WORKSHOP Typical VOLLMER: Our fleet is constantly being adapted to current challenges. In 2016, € 250,000 was invested in mod- ernising the technology. In 2018, a further € 115,000 was spent on the procurement of a lathe. In this way our training concept is improved and we can always offer new training professions. For example, cutting tool mechanic and cutting machine oper- ator. Across all training offers we make sure that our trainees get involved in project work and strengthen conceptual think- ing, team spirit and planning skills. A successful example of this is a CNC machine developed and produced by one of our junior staff, which we currently use to engrave VOLLMER pro- motional gifts at trade fairs. "I wanted a company in which I can work with the latest programmes and machines. I pretty much got that at VOLLMER!" Cast off to the future: 54 trainees and 9 students are currently on board at VOLLMER. THE VOLLMER CORPORATE CULTURE Our trainees should feel comfortable and at ease in our company. We help in this regard: Three full-time trainers assist the junior staff and advocate that the trainees receive opti- mal support and encouragement. From a technical point of view, but also in relation to everything else. Events such as trainee health days and workshops ensure a pleasant working atmosphere and create scope for ideas. Trips and joint pro- jects, such as the development of the V Grill – an electronically controllable grill in the design of a VOLLMER machine – boost the dynamics of the group and the self-confidence of every individual. VOLLMER gives its trainees a lot and also gets a lot in return. Not forgetting the mature and liberal-minded young professionals with vision and potential, who shape the compa- ny for decades.
