Firm grip on the future: How VOLLMER systematically trains future skilled workers and managers in its innovative training workshop. GENERATION Nico Bammert, Trainee Industrial Clerk (17) 2nd year of training Martin Sproll, Dual Student in Production Engineering (23) 1st academic year Theresa Seif, Trainee Mechatronics Engineer (17) 2nd year of training TRAINING TRADITION AT VOLLMER Fact: The first documented apprenticeship at VOLLMER dates back to 1916. Almost two decades later, in 1935 our company was the first in Biberach to prepare its junior staff for their future careers in its own training workshop. Since then almost 1,600 young people have received a valuable "finishing touch" from our qualified trainers. Many of them still work in the company today. Some even at management level. It is thus no wonder that we are widely appreciated as an experienced training organisation. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce Ulm also recognised this remarkable achievement on the occasion of the 100-year training anni- versary. IN SEPTEMBER 2018, 20 SCHOOL LEAVERS START THEIR PROFESSIONAL CAREERS AT VOLLMER. THERESA, MARTIN AND NICO ARE IN THEIR FIRST AND SECOND TRAINING YEAR AND ARE ALREADY PROUD MEMBERS OF THE TRAINEE TEAM. LIKE THE NEWCOMERS, THEY DIDN'T LAND IN BIBERACH BY ACCIDENT, BUT CONSCIOUSLY DECIDED ON VOLLMER. FOR GOOD, BUT ALSO VERY DIFFERENT REASONS. Martin Sproll (23) "For me it was important to obtain a really good, solid education. Then I heard that VOLLMER has been doing just this for over 100 years. Then I knew, there's a lot of sense in that." 20 21 PERSPECTIVES
