on in the region. The Moreschi company with 40 employees, located in the 1500-inhabitant town of Vilminore de Scalve, is one of the leading producers of circular and band saw blades. Over 30 years of saw blades “In 1987, my brother Luciano and I founded a grinding centre for small workshops here in Vilminore de Scalve,” says Marco Moreschi, CEO of Moreschi Srl. “But we soon changed our focus to the manufacture of custom circular and band saw blades, where precision and sharpness are what really matter.” In order to process its carbide-tipped circular saws, Moreschi turned relatively early on to the technology of the Swabian machine tool manufacturer VOLLMER. More than 25 years have passed since the first sharpening machine made its way from Biberach, over the steep mountain passes, narrow streets and numerous twists and turns on the way to the alpine village in Northern Italy. Moreschi is shapedby familyandtradition Moreschi delivers its saw blades to customers in Italy and across the globe. The company also operates a grinding centre in Poland. But in spite of its amazing growth and the interna- tional strategy the company has pursued, tradition and family still play a major role. In this way, Moreschi is still closely con- nected with its home community in the Bergamo Alps. As far as family goes, the second generation are already hard at work at the company – Marco Moreschi's daughter Gloria and his son Mattia. “For us it's not only very important to keep the family tradi- tion alive, but also to have reliable partners so that we are able to offer our customers the best saw blades,” explains Marco Moreschi. “That's why we've relied on the grinding machines from Biberach since 1991. We currently have more than 15 VOLLMER machines in operation.” Made to measure, with tailored advice Numerous companies from the steel and metal alloy indus- try are part of their customer base. The company produces saw blades for large-scale manufacturers and small saw mills. This means its customers can have very different requirements, so Moreschi always offers an individual consultation and bespoke saw blades. These blades machine precise materials of a whole range of hardnesses and sizes, from steel and metal alloys to wood, plastic and composite materials. In order to ensure a consistently high quality, Moreschi carries out multiple test runs before the end product reaches the customer. The com- pany is also constantly working to further develop its products and technologies to find suitable solutions for all the various applications. To help with this, Moreschi has an exchange pro- gramme with Italian universities. VOLLMER IN ACTION! The VOLLMER grinding machines from the CHD, CHF and CM lines are the most prominent in the production halls of the Italian saw blade manufacturer. The CHD 270 sharpens car- bide-tipped circular saw blades with outside diameters be- tween 80 and 840 mm. The CM 300 grinding machine achieves outstanding precision at diameters from 200 to 1440 mm thanks to a fixed grinding unit and its solid structure. For XXL sizes, with diameters up to 2200 mm, Moreschi uses the CHM and CHMF 400. The VOLLMER machines are valued for their efficient and easy operation, as well as their high degree of reliability.
